Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care |
The Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is the service arm of the Yee Hong family. It carries the responsibility of planning and delivering high quality and culturally appropriate services to enable seniors to live their lives to the fullest - in the healthiest, most independent and dignified way. Officially opened in October of 1994, Yee Hong Centre provides Chinese seniors and seniors from other cultural backgrounds including South Asian, Filipino and Japanese communities, with culturally and linguistically appropriate services – as they enjoy healthy, independent and dignified lives. Through the nursing home, non-profit housing, and community centre, thousands of seniors benefit from these services – everyday.
At the end of October 2003, it marked the third consecutive time Yee Hong has been accredited by the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation. Its stellar care to seniors furthered Yee Hong's reputation as a leader in geriatric care in Ontario, across Canada and around the world. After years of dedicated, hard work and a selfless pursuit to build caring communities for seniors, Yee Hong Centre is beginning to see its ambitious dream take shape. By the end of 2004. Yee Hong will be operating a total of 805 long-term care beds and serving both Chinese and non-Chinese seniors in Markham, Mississauga and Toronto, and reaching over 10,000 individuals from different ethnic communities on a daily basis across Greater Toronto and Surrounding Areas.
