Objectives:
The Ottawa Mandarin School's aims are to foster the development of multiculturalism in Canada, to develop the ability of Chinese Canadian children in the use of their ancestral language, to strengthen their understanding of Chinese culture, to cultivate the five concrete qualities of moral, intellectual, physical, social and artistic education, to work for the establishment of a multicultural society and to cultivate Chinese culture. It is also our mission to provide this same education for children of any other ethnic background as well who are interested in learning the Chinese language and culture.
The School provided instruction in Traditional Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing using the BoPoMo phonetic method and daily conversation as well as Chinese culture with Canadian content. The School is affiliated with the International Languages Program of the Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board.
